Runes

All spells have a Rune Cost. To keep things simple, the Rune Cost will not differentiate between different types of runes. Instead, all runes are counted as one number and the spells draw from that number.

Standard Rune Cost

Note that these costs are cumulative, not additive. Casting a T5 spell costs 10 runes, not 30.

  • T1 Spells: 2 Runes
  • T2 Spells: 4 Runes
  • T3 Spells: 6 Runes
  • T4 Spells: 8 Runes
  • T5 Spells: 10 Runes
Special Rune Cost
  • Shield Dome: 9 Runes
  • Vengeance Other: 16
  • Vengeance Self: 16
  • Vengeance Group: 18
  • Heal Other: 7
  • Heal Group: 9
  • Disruption Shield: 16
  • Spellbook Swap: 6
Buying New Runes

Runes are common since Runecrafting was rediscovered in the late 5th Age. However, being in Morytania makes even the most common supplies harder to come by. You can replenish your rune supplies by heading to a town and spending gold.

  • Western Price: 5gp per Rune (This takes 1D4 days to reach Paterdomus for pick-up.)
  • Morytanian Price: 10gp per Rune (This is instantaneous.)
