Name: Alex Elaran
Proposed rank: Proselyte
Backstory: Joined the White Knights at age 20 during a recruitment drive.
During an operation into an underground Kinshra base, Alex was ordered to bring up the rear at
a distance, as he was still relatively green. After discovering which room held the artifact, they had gone underground to retrieve it. Alex had been picked only as a messenger, to escape if something went wrong and report the mission's failure. Passing through a sparsely-populated barracks of sleeping Kinshra, one of his teammates tripped on an axe, falling over with a crash of metal, as he had tried to grab an armor stand to steady himself, only to pull it over with him.
The Kinshra surged to their feet, taking no prisoners. Using his distance as an advantage, Alex pulled a crossbow from his pack and set to carefully placing bolts in the Kinshra's backs as they fought his squad. As he sighted on the last man, the enemy knight dispatched his comrade and turned to him. In desperation, he took up a Kinshra dagger and killed the man. Purloining a set of armor that looked like it would fit him and posing as a guard, he carried out the mission alone, against his orders.
He managed to sneak into the rotation of men guarding the artifact. When his watch came, he killed the other guard and stole the relic, returning victoriously to Falador. Though he had completed the mission, he had still disobeyed orders.
As he sat in a prison cell to await his fate, a strangely-dressed Knight unlocked the door and told him to follow. Before he knew where he was going, he was in a room that he knew was not any part of Falador. The Knight turned to him and took off his helm, extending a hand. "You've been scouted by the Temple Knights. Congratulations."
Anything was better than being court-martialed for being a hero.
In his first year as a Temple Knight, Alex earned the Heart of Courage medal for pushing an ally out of the way of a swinging axe trap. Later that year, he earned the Elspeth's Valor medal by diverting a river and washing out a canyon road on both sides of an army, leaving them effectively stranded.
Two years later, he earned three Badge of Duty medals by detaining assassins meant to kill high-ranking officials and destabilize Asgarnia in the process.
Just mere days into his third year, Alex earned the Elora's Horn medal not once, but twice. First by jumping in front of an explosive spell aimed at his Captain, the next taking a poisoned dart to spare the life of the heir to the Asgarnian throne.
Twice in his eighth year as a Temple Knight, Alex earned the Joint Service Medallion by working with the Burthope Imperial Guard to beat back the Trolls, once by painting some statues to look like larger, meaner trolls which earned him another Elspeth's Valor medal, and again by single-handedly stopping a second, larger group of Trolls singlehandedly while the rest of his unit was busy.
It has now been two years since that day.
