Kaizer went to investigate the lighting of a pyre two weeks ago in Mort'ton. After asking Ulsquire where it took place, he found a body affixed to a pyre. All evidence led to the person being savagely beaten, incapacitated, then burned alive. The body, by the time it was found, was host to all sorts of nasty insects including the infamous Red Centipede. Kai suffered an Afflicted attack, then a venomous bite from the centipede infesting the body that left him incapacitated in Ulsquire's care. Connor came to collect Kai when he did not arrive back in the Burgh on time, and they both had a brief look over the body before they left. They only found that the rope bindings used on the victim were treated with blamish snail slime to make them slightly fire retardant. They returned to the Burgh shortly after with the head of the corpse.
They, however, did not search the immediate area...
