A missive found in the pocket of a mage in the Mort Myre has detailed a plot against Paterdomus. A cult of Infernal Magi lead by a man named Soren Blackwood is seeking to bind powerful demons to their will and besiege Paterdomus to nefarious ends.
Tori, departing Burgh de Rott with Ramsey, made her way north toward the Slayer Tower. Along the way they were both beset by a female hobgoblin astride a trained nail beast. After fending her off and defeating her, Tori managed to recruit the goblinoid to her cause of stopping Blackwood. Now with Unki in tail, they made a detour to restock at Paterdomus before making the final march to the Slayer Tower.
Upon arrival, they were beset by a swarm of imps that were easily dispatched. Unki was put off by the sinister appearance of the looming tower, and did not join Tori and Ramsey beyond the gate. Markus, a Misthalinite noble, flagged down both Tori and Ramsey and offered them an additional reward for 700 gold to clear out Blackwood's coven.
After a quick but brutal fight with a large crawling hand, Tori and Ramsey made their way up to where the mages were quartered. Unknown to them, the mages were alerted of their presence when they ascended the spiraling stairs due to an alarm spell set in place. Tori and Ramsey walked into an ambush, but one that they were expecting.
Easily able to identify the head mage, Tori set on attacking him and banishing the mirror images that made hitting him nearly impossible. With both her and Ramsey being plinked down by magic missiles, Tori was barely able to bring the presumed Soren Blackwood to near death. Deciding that it was a lost cause, Blackwood fled the scene with Tori in tow. Ramsey was told to remain behind, fending off the remaining mages so that Tori would not be ambushed from behind.
After a quick chase to the top of the tower ending on a parapet, Tori and Blackwood were at a standoff with a magic missile readied to be fired at her. Dropping her sword and drawing her crossbow, Tori tanked the magic blast and fired a final shot at Blackwood impacting him in the chest and sending him over the parapet and cascading down the rocks below.
Trapped by gargoyles until a slayer arrived, Tori found out all too late that Ramsey had perished while holding off the mages. With a parting kiss on the forehead, Tori left Ramsey behind and collected her bounty from Markus and shared a portion with the slayer that aided her. With her job done, Tori scavenged the corpse of Soren and retrieved a journal detailing his plans of imbuing a Kal'Gerion demon with abyssal energies to make a siege beast to break Paterdomus.
Curiously enough Soren was aided by a man in a wide brimmed hat wearing a bandanna to obscure his face who gave him a strange demonic sigil stone for use in his rituals. This sinister sigil stone was among the items retrieved from a small bag of holding on Soren's person.
With little time to mourn, Tori and Unki restocked at Paterdomus and began their trek south to Unki's home - the Broken Blade Eyrie.
