Bats are essentially flying rats, but with an innate magical ability that makes them a bit more meddlesome to deal with. Though to an experienced traveler, they are nothing more than a furry mosquito.
Bolts are good at reaching the little buggers, and fly fast enough to hit them before they can move. Though, if you can reach, anything will dispose of them easily enough.
