Banshees are the ghosts of long dead women who have been twisted into vile creatures of vengeance. They possess a shrill, bone-chilling shriek that can kill a man just by hearing it. Ear protection is REQUIRED to combat these, otherwise you will quickly find yourself bleeding from orifices you didn’t even know you had. Their scream isn’t their only course of attack, however. They cast evil magic at all opponents, so keep yourself insulated in good leather when picking a fight with these.
Arrows seem to work best on Banshees, despite their ethereal form. Some say it is because it reminds them of the pain of their pierced hearts. I say it’s because it’s what kills them best. To-may-to, to-mah-to.
