Using calculations on different rolls in a chat message

Hey,

I would like to do something like this:

Elanor does [3d3=A] damage and [10d10=B] healing. This results in [B-A] healing.

So I want to subtract the first roll from the second roll and display it in the same chat message. Is this currently possible?

Thanks!

That's not currently possible, but I think it's a neat idea!

Cool, I would love this as a feature!

Okay, I implemented basic support for this. However, there are a few caveats:

  • variables must have a length of 3 characters or more and cannot contain numbers
  • assignment values must be on the right side, e.g. ABC=3d3

So your example would look like this:

Elanor does [DMG=3d3] damage and [HEAL=10d10] healing. This results in [HEAL-DMG] healing.

Thank you, consider this a beta test for now, I'll add it to the official instructions once the bugs are ironed out :) One thing I want to enable in the future is that you can have numbers in the variable names...

Oh yes, that sounds like a good thing, for example if you have multiple damage types and you can just use DMG1, DMG2 and so on :)

One suggestion I have would be to not show the variables in the message because it makes the messages quite long. Maybe only when hovering above the info icon.
