Post Formatting

The formatting options are minimal right now, I'll amend them in the future as need arises.

* Emphasis: use the * star to enclose text * you want to see emphasized. Like this: this is emphasized.

[quote udo]this is a quote[/quote]

[s]strike[/s] Like this: strike

[hr] makes a separator line, like this:

Karma / Mod Points

Karma: every time another user likes a post of yours, your karma score goes up.

Mod: when you like a post or when you start a new thread, you will use a moderator point. They regenerate after a few minutes.

Curated Threads

When creating a thread, you can include the [curator] command in its text to highlight a set of people tasked with taking care of the thread. In a roleplaying thread, these might be the GMs. For example, if your nickname is "MrsCurator", you can designate a thread to you by using the command [curator MrsCurator]. To assign multiple curators, just include them after the first one, leaving a space after each name.

Rolls in this post: #1 gen d20 = Str 10 (0), Con 14 (+2), Dex 10 (0), Int 13 (+1), Wis 10 (0), Cha 11 (0)

Dice Rolling

To embed a dice roll into your post, use the "roll" code. For example:

[roll gen d20] will result in gen d20 = Str 10 (0), Con 14 (+2), Dex 10 (0), Int 13 (+1), Wis 10 (0), Cha 11 (0).

Dice rolls will be executed when you post the comment, the roll will be attached to the comment itself, and the original [roll] code will be transformed into a reference of that roll. Roll references use the [ref 1] syntax, where the number after the ref starts at 1 for the first roll in that post.

If you made an error while entering the dice code, don't worry, you can go back and change it. After saving the comment again, your new dice code will get executed too, and will also be attached to your post. To view all the attached rolls, click on the "rolls: x" link in the post's header.

Embedding Stuff

If you paste a URL into your post, it will automatically be transformed into a link.

If you paste a URL that ends with either jpg, gif, or png, the Rolz forum will assume it's an image and display it accordingly. This should work for most image hosting services, such as Imgur.

YouTube URLs: the video will be embedded automatically:

Rolz Dice URLs: the roll image will be embedded:

You can poll forum users with an empty set of square brackets followed by some text:

[] this is some option A

[] this is option B

...which will be rendered as

If you also use the [poll] command code in your post, you get more control over the process and users can write in their own options by using the [x] code in their following posts, like this:

[x] user option C

^ which will get amended to your original poll. When you want to close the poll again, edit the polling post and change [poll] into [poll closed]. After this, no more voting can take place on these options.
